FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
[Nigeria] — Nigerian Gospel Afrobeats and inspirational artist Johnson Rays is set to release his uplifting new single, “Take Life Easy,” on October 2, 2026.
Blending infectious Afrobeats rhythms with Gospel inspiration, Nigerian Pidgin and Yoruba expressions, “Take Life Easy” delivers a simple but powerful message: slow down, stay calm, trust God, and don’t allow the pressures of life to push you into the wrong path.
The song speaks to anyone feeling pressured by the demands of everyday life. Through its memorable hook, Johnson Rays reminds listeners:
“Please take life easy, please take it gently
Everything’s go dey okay, please take it easy.”
Beyond its catchy Afrobeats groove, the song carries a strong message of faith and contentment, pointing listeners back to God as the ultimate source of provision, direction and hope. Johnson Rays sings, “Oluwa no dey like the greedy, na God dey feed the needy,” encouraging listeners not to be consumed by greed or the pressure to achieve everything at once.
The song also addresses the dangers of allowing other people’s expectations to determine one’s pace in life. Johnson Rays encourages listeners to keep their cool, avoid being rushed into the wrong decisions, and remember that life can change from one moment to another.
A Message of Faith, Patience and Perspective
“Take Life Easy” is more than a feel-good Afrobeats record. It is a reminder to remain patient, trust God’s timing and understand that everyone has their own journey.
The repeated “Slow down, slow down, take it easy” refrain gives the song its central message while the combination of English, Nigerian Pidgin and Yoruba gives it an authentic African identity.
The Gospel message becomes even more pronounced as Johnson Rays calls on Jesus Christ to rule over our lives, placing the song’s message of peace and patience firmly within his faith.
Johnson Rays continues to develop his distinctive sound by bringing together Gospel, Afrobeats, Reggae and inspirational influences, creating music that speaks to both spiritual faith and everyday life.
